Hey, I've been doing this annual holiday bookfest for years and it's a great event. Food, music, and readings in one room, 30 local authors in another. We'll be signing books to raise money for Seattle7Writers charities, including the The Greater Seattle Bureau of Fearless Ideas, which runs a huge slate of literacy programs, writing classes, and after-school tutoring for low income families. It's fun, and a great way to spend $ on Christmas gifts that also serve a purpose. Local indie Phinney Books will be handling sales. Swing on by Saturday afternoon and I will buy you a pumpkin spice latte with x-tra spice. Kevin O'Brien will buy you a DVD of "Out of The Past." Laurie Frankel will buy you a mint pressing of the first Captain Beefheart album. Garth Stein will buy you a '71 Strat, and Kevin Emerson will buy you nothing, but for a fee will grin enigmatically and bathe you in the twinkle of his deep blue eyes.
