Movie Review

One Crazy Summer dir. Steve Holland — 3.2

A painfully un-funny '80's comedy that fails to miss an opportunity to mine a cliche or cringe through a brain-dead set piece. Even taking in to account the extremely low expectations of a film like this, it blows. It's kind of fun to see pencil-thin John Cusak, pre-surgery Demi Moore, pre male-pattern hair loss Jeremy Piven, not to mention Booger from Revenge of The Nerds, but not much. The film does beg the question as to how it was possible Bobcat Goldthwait had a job, let alone a career. His mush-mouth yelling/crazy schtick is as dreadful and witless now as it must have seemed in 1986.
