JT LeRoy comes to Seattle

Okay, for a dose of true weirdness, tonight I will be reading the work of teen hustler/truckstop rentboy JT LeRoy in front of Laura Albert, who it turns out is the middle-aged woman who posed as LeRoy for years, and wrote 3 books under his name. The controversy seems to have abated somewhat, but the confusion remains. Ms. Albert will be interviewed onstage at Hugo House by The Stranger's Christopher Frizzelle. Also reading are Chihuly enthusiast Garth Stein, and the mighty Nicole Hardy. In the 90's Lou Reed, Courtney Love and Billy Corgan did public readings for the understandably shy LeRoy, so not only are we in excellent company, all week I've been humming tunes from my favorite Best of Hole cassette.

And, Twitter too… Also on Facebook

‘He did.’
‘About what?’
‘A women’s prison’
‘Why didn’t I think of that?’”
