Freaks and Geeks, 1st season dir. Judd Apatow — 3.0

I've long heard or read that this is one of the great unheralded shows in television history, and was undeservedly cancelled after just one season. Well, not really. It's unheralded, I think, mostly because it's obvious, not particularly well written, and boning up against pretty much every single high school cliche that exists: the angry girl, the oblivious parents, the mean kid in gym, the nice boy who gets picked on, the geeky mathelete, the nice guidance counselor, etc. HO HUM. It did launch the careers of Jason Seigal, Seth Rogan, and James Franco, though. And the acting isn't bad on the whole. It's just as bland as pie, and without an original idea.
And, Twitter too… Also on Facebook

“I ran down the hall. And stopped in front of the counselor’s office. There was nothing there. Not even a door, just bricks. I could swear there used to be a door.”
