Movie Review

Abe Lincoln Vampire Hunter dir. Timur Berkmambetov — 6.0

Often curt and nonsensical, this funny idea stretched into an actual movie is less annoying than you'd figure. There are some surprisingly cool historical recreations, including Washington D.C. panoramas from the 1850's and some Civil War/Matthew Brady stuff. There's even a ridiculous but bravura fight in the midst of a horse stampede. The characters and dialog are tiresome, though. And they didn't do themselves any favors by adding new rules to the vampire pantheon, like vampires can make themselves invisible. And can't harm one another. And walk freely in the daylight.
